I have received confirmation from the Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD that the design team has been appointed for the delivery of the new Gaelscoil campus for Athenry.

“The project includes the delivery of two new schools consisting of a national school at the site of the former Clarin College, Athenry”.

The project has been devolved to Galway & Roscommon Education and Training Board.

The design team will commence the design stages and will bring the project through to planning, tender and construction.

“I will continue to keep this project on my agenda as the staff, parents and Boards of Management deserve to have modern educational facilities which are long overdue”.

“This project is the final piece in the jigsaw for the delivery of modern facilities with the Presentation College and Clarin College both now complete and operational, representing a capital investment in excess of €40 million for Athenry and the catchment”.
