I welcome the provision of funding for Energy Retrofit in four Council Housing Estates in Galway.
‘Cloughbrack in Eyrecourt, Shannon Park in Portumna, St. Joseph’s Park in Killimor, St. Joseph’s in Ballinasloe and Cre Na Cille in Tynagh have been successful in being included in the Midlands Energy Retrofit Programme’.
‘As Minister in the Department of Community & Energy, I along with Richard Bruton initiated this scheme’.
The Scheme will immediately finance Local Authority Retrofit programmes and will offer grants to owners of private properties within the estates.
The Scheme provides for 70 houses in total to be included in the scheme.
‘Retrofitted homes will be warmer, cosier, more energy efficient and comfortable to live in. This scheme will help reduce household energy bills and reduce greenhouse emission’.
