I have received confirmation from the Minister for Agriculture that the deadline for the spreading of Lime has been extended to the 31st of October 2024.
“The extension is positive decision and will give farmers the chance to spread lime as the original deadline of the 28th of June was impossible to achieve to the exceptional inclement weather.
I have been contacted by farmers who were very worried about the June deadline and with meadows yet to be cut and in a lot of cases, grass is very high, so spreading lime is an impossible task.
The Minister also confirmed that the grant for spreading lime will be paid out before the end of 2024. This also very reassuring for farmers.”
