I welcome progress with the installation of pedestrian crossings in Tuam town.
“The installation of pedestrian crossings on the Galway Road, Dunmore Road and Athenry Road are very welcomed additions to the towns infrastructure”.
“Galway County Council are tendering further pedestrian crossing including two crossings on the Gilmartin Road and another crossing on the Galway Road”.
“Further crossings are required on the Dublin Road and further set down safety works are to be carried out on the Dublin Road to facilitate the safe set down and pick up of students at the schools”.
“Pedestrian crossings act as a safe refuge for pedestrians and cyclists. They also act as a means of slowing down traffic in residential areas”.
“Since the opening of the by-pass many of the roads in the town have a changed function. It is important that we continue to develop safe walking and cycling routes within the town to link to shops and services”.
“I commend the County Council Engineers and staff for the great progress being made in Tuam in relation to the installation”.
Welcome progress with installation of pedestrian crossings in Tuam.
