I welcome the announcement by Minister Heather Humphreys that Gort has been chosen as one of the 26 towns in the country which will be provided with 100,000 to support the development of its own unique development plan.
“I congratulate Gort and the Gorgeous Gort Forum who would have worked very hard to make this funding a reality”.
“Galway County Council will now work closely with local community groups, retailers and other members of the towns teams in devising and delivering on objectives of Gort’s Master Plan.
“It is envisaged that the plan will focus on town centre living, the social and economic purpose of the town and respond to the emerging opportunities such as remote working, climate action and digitalisation. The plan will also be central to address vacancy and dereliction in Gort”.
