I welcome the allocation of €750,000 to three projects in Galway East.
‘Portumna Blueway Wayfinding Sculpture Park has received €499,585 to develop a multi-use shared 2.4k leisure route (Blueway) information, directional and safety signage, a sculpture trail and all other associated ancillary works.
‘Woodford Millennium Oak Forest has been awarded €200,000 for the regeneration of the Derrygill Millennium Oak Forest paths, trails and recreational area.
‘€50,000 has also been allocated for preparatory design and planning works at Long Point, Loughrea, Co. Galway.
‘I welcome these allocations as a major boost for the three areas and will help rejuvenate these great outdoor amenities.
‘I commend the local people for their dedication and commitment to these projects. The investment will provide support for the rural economies and make Galway East a more attractive destination for adventure tourism.’
