I welcome the funding allocation of €37,613,536 for the 2022 Roads Programme.
Funding is allocated for restoration improvement works, maintenance, bridge rehabilitation, safety improvement works, drainage works, Active Travel and speed limits.
“I welcome the allocation of €1,000,000 towards the R332 Kilbannon Road re-alignment and €250,000 towards to Athenry Relief Road Sections 3 & 5”.
“These works will be carried out this year under the management of Galway County Council and will help keep roads in a good standard and will also upgrade hazardous junctions to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists”.
“I urge the Council to push on with the tender for the Kilbannon Road re-alignment which is urgently required”.
