I have been informed by Galway County Council that they propose to carry out works in the coming months on the Dublin Road at the junction with the Purcell Stockwell road.
The junction is very busy with cars and pedestrians at school drop off and pick up times.
“The works are an effort to increase safety by provide footpaths and adjust railings in order to make the junction and general area safer for all”.
“This junction can be very congested at school times and any improvements to the junction are to be welcomed.
There are a number of national school’s access points at this location, and it is imperative that safety is a priority especially young children trying to access the schools”.
“The funding is part of the Active Travel Scheme initiative and follows from numerous representations to my office from concerned parents”.
