VISIT TO SMART DOCKLANDS

I had a great visit earlier this week to the Smart Docklands initiative. I was introduced to a whole range of Smart City installations, including the Steora Smart Bench which has its own Wifi and wireless phone charging, the Smart Bike locking system and the Smart Traffic Cabinet system
Over at Dogpatch Labs in the CHQ building, I saw a range of digital initiatives, including facial recognition for cows! The latter – Cainthus – is now a hugely successful international business and I was delighted to meet one of the founders, David Hunt, a native of Clonbur!
