I have been informed that many patients are not showing up for their vaccine.
“I have determined that the reason for the no shows is that they are being double booked”.
“It seems there are two independent computer systems. One is run by the acute hospitals and the other by the CHO’s. The two systems are not integrated and cannot be crossed checked”.
“Many patients have both a disability (CHO responsibility) and a chronic illness (hospital responsibility). They are being booked in twice. One by the hospital consultant and then also by the public health”.
“I am requesting that the Minister for Health and the HSE to ensure that the vaccines are delivered in a logical way and that we eliminate as much as possible this double booking as a matter of urgency”.
