I have been advised by the HSE that the existing health centre building will be the headquarters for the Social Care Team for counties Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.
‘I welcome this development as it brings another service to Tuam and it means that an additional 12 HSE employees will be deployed to Tuam.
‘The building was recently vacated by the HSE as they relocated the clinic staff to the new Primary Care Unit.
‘This is positive as it means that the building will continue to be used by the HSE. It also means another 12 people will be employed in the town.
