I call on the citizens in Tuam to engage in the Public Consultation ongoing to develop a master plan for the regeneration of Tuam Town Centre.

‘As Minister in the Department of Community & Rural Development I made funding available for the purpose of developing a masterplan for Tuam Town Centre under the Rural Regeneration Fund’.

This is the first step in obtaining the necessary funding to bring the masterplan to reality. The masterplan will be the foundation to regenerate the town centre in an exciting and sustainable way. It will bring back to life public buildings and develop public spaces. It will also encourage the opening up of existing closed properties in the town centre.

‘The Rural Regeneration Fund consists of a €1 billion fund. Tuam also qualifies for the Urban Regeneration Fund which is another opportunity for Tuam’.
‘The time is here to prepare the plan for Tuam and to take advantage of the two major funds which are in place to bring the plans to reality’
