Sean Canney Independent TD has received confirmation that 5 towns and villages in Galway have received funding under the Town & Village Renewal Scheme.
“Belclare Village is to receive €100,000 towards the provision of footpaths, pedestrian crossing and enhanced public lighting in the village”.
“Portumna has been awarded €100,000 for the provision of footpath, cycle way, gazebos for the Lough Derg Cottage market”.
“Claregalway has been allocated €200,000 for the construction of an extension to Claregalway Leisure Centre and the provision of a Digital Hub”.
“Castleblakney have been awarded €100,000 towards the provision of an outdoor recreation area including playground, outdoor Gym, walking route and car parking facilities”.
“Creggs have been awarded €90,000 towards the upgrade of the Heritage Centre and the provision of ICT facilities for community use”.
“I am delighted to see the Town & Village Renewal Scheme which was initiated by former Minister Michael Ring and I still being used to support the renewal of our towns and villages”.
“I commend the local communities and Galway County Council for their dedication in submitting successful applications”.
