I recently met with the Commission on the Future of Policing in Ireland and they want to hear your views on policing in Ireland and the changes that need to be made.
The Commission was established in May 2017 to develop a blueprint for policing. It has been tasked with undertaking an independent, comprehensive examination of all aspects of policing, including all functions currently carried out by An Garda Siochána, as well as the full range of oversight bodies.
The Commission is keen to get as wide a range of views as possible and are inviting members of the public to make submissions by post or by email, via its website www.policereform.ie. This is a great opportunity for the people of Galway east to have their say on an issue of local and national importance. The deadline for submissions is January 31st, 2018.
Have your say on the future of policing
