The closing date for the Galway County Council’s Community Facilities Scheme is fast approaching.
Galway County Local Community Development Committee has been allocated a fund of €64,500 by the Department of Housing, Community and Local Government, from which it can allocate up to €1,000 per project to Community Groups in County Galway.
The Scheme will provide small-scale grants for community groups all across Ireland. It operates alongside other schemes and programmes already in place in communities, but groups can only use this funding for capital projects, or part of a capital project.
Galway County Council has decided to give priority in its award of grants to projects which will meet the goals and objectives of increasing health and wellbeing in County Galway as outlined in Theme 4 of the Galway County Local Economic and Community Plan.
