I want to remind schools, community groups and organisations that the deadline for CLÁR funding applications under Measures 1 and 2 is midnight on Monday July 13.
CLÁR (Ceantair Laga Ard-Riachtanais) is a targeted investment programme for rural areas that aims to provide funding for small infrastructural projects in areas that experience disadvantage and population decline.
The aim of CLÁR is to support the sustainable development of identified areas by attracting people to live and work there.
The funding works in conjunction with local/agency and other Departmental funding programmes and on the basis of locally identified priorities.
There is an allocation of €5 million nationally for 2020 from my Department, the Department of Rural and Community Development.
The following measures will be operated via the local authorities for a range of school and community projects:
Measure 1: Support for Safety Measures at Schools & Community Facilities
Measure 2: Support for Community Recreation Areas
Any potential applicant should firstly verify that their proposal is within an identified CLÁR area.
Fully completed application forms for Measures 1 & 2 must be returned to Galway County Council by e-mail to [email protected] . Forms and information are available from the same address.
For details on CLÁR and examples of eligible projects, visit www.galway.ie .
Measure 3 applications for meal delivery services and transport support for cancer patients and other vulnerable groups with mobility issues should be submitted directly to the Department of Rural and Community Development.
