I have received written confirmation from the Minister of State for the OPW, that the extension to the offices at the Regional Headquarters in Headford is progressing.
Enabling works including the provision of temporary accommodation is well advanced and should be completed shortly.
‘The main contract is also progressing with the planning permission in place. The tender for the main works will be issued in the coming weeks. The pre-qualification of the main contractors is complete. The Minister expects construction to commence onsite in Spring 2021.
‘I welcome this progress with this major investment in Headford. It will copperfasten Headford as the Regional Headquarters and maintain employment in the area’.
The works when complete will also enhance the streetscape off the carpark and create a corporate appearance for the OPW.
‘The OPW provide employment opportunities for many local people and this development which I initiated when in the Ministerial role is an important investment for Headford’.
