I have received confirmation that the road safety audit is now complete for the section of the R333 from the Claretuam junction to Belclare Community Sports Field.
The audit has confirmed that this section of the road has to be realigned.
The next step in the process is for Galway County Council to make an application to the Department of Transport for funding similar to the Kilbannon project.
Separately, the county council is also investigating the feasibility of a park-and-ride facility at the Claretuam junction of the Tuam to Galway road.
This junction is an ideal location as a connection point for bus services to Tuam and Galway.
I commend Galway County Council on its work to date and I confirm my support in getting these projects delivered.
