I am appealing to everyone to observe social distancing when using parks and walkways.
We have so many wonderful facilities for walking around the constituency but people not observing the social distancing advice of keeping two metres apart are putting themselves and others at risk.
It is great that more and more people are choosing walking as their way of exercising during the crisis but we need to keep our distance from others if we are to avoid spreading the virus.
Some people have told me they have been very disappointed to visit well-known local areas for a walk to find that others are not observing the advice given by the Chief Medical Officer, the Health Service Executive and the Department of Health.
We do not want to close any facilities but we have seen over the weekend images of people around the country congregating in ways that are not acceptable. This must not continue.
