Galway East TD and Minister of State, Deputy Sean Canney has revealed that several organisations in the constituency are to benefit to the tune of over €126,000 from Department of Health Lottery Funding.
The Department of Health has a National Lottery Discretionary fund in place which provides once-off grants to organisation providing a range of health related services, details of which have been revealed today (Monday, November 21st 2016).
The organisations receiving funding are:
– Kilconly Community Recreational Group – €45,041 (to secure the property and install gym equipment)
– Galway Hospice Foundation – €50,720 (to purchase a new minibus)
– Williams Syndrome Association of Ireland – €15,000 (to fund a residential music activity camp)
– Act for Meningitis – €10,000 (to provide a series of national support workshops)
– Arthritis Ireland Galway – €1,000 (to fund cookery and nutrition programmes)
– Glinsk Defibrillator Group – €5.051 (to purchase four defibrillators)
