Minister of State and Galway East TD, Sean Canney had the honour of unveiling the Irish Wheelchair Association’s new bus in Tuam today (Tuesday, 25th April).
The bus cost in excess of €36,000 and was funded in part by the National Lottery grants, together with fundraising locally by the IWA.
Minister Canney praised the local IWA organisation for their tremendous work carried out over the years. “I cannot speak highly enough of the great work done by the service-users, their families, supporters, workers, members and all associated with the group in Tuam and surrounding areas,” said Minister Canney.
“The day care facilities are a lifeline for many people throughout North Galway and the new bus will greatly add to the service,” added Minister Canney.
“I also met privately with service-users to discuss their issues. I was delight to be in a position to engage with the people who are citizens in our community,” concluded Minister Canney.
