I met today with Shane Ross, Minister for Transport and Kevin Boxer Moran, Minister for the OPW, with Galway County Council officials. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues in relation to roads and flooding in County Galway.
The meeting was also attended by Eileen Mannion Cathaoirleach of Galway County Council, Officials from the Office of Public Works, Oireachtas members, and some Councillors. The meeting was arranged to high light the particular issues in relation to damage to roads, piers, and coastal erosion as a result of the recent storms. Both Ministers were impressed by the quality of the presentation and have undertaken to study the particular problems with their officials.
