I was recently interviewed on Kinvara FM about the General Election. I spoke about funding for Rural Ireland, how the campaign is going and the main issues that are coming up on the doorstep in Galway East.
I also spoke about how it seems likely that no party will get an overall majority and the importance of having a representative for Galway East and Rural Ireland in Government formation negotiations. I did this in the last Programme for Government, after which I became Minister for the Office of Public Works and in 2018 Minister of State in the Department for Rural and Community Development and in the Department of Communications, Climate Action and the Environment.
I also spoke about flooding relief in Kinvara, my Department’s investment in the boardwalk between the castle and the village, recent major funding for the road to Balllinderreen, tourism and the need to support community radio.
