Tuam Municipal District has received in excess of €4 million in funding for 2018 as part of the annual roads programme, a welcome increase on previous years.
The allocation is part of the roads programme announced last week. The funding includes over €3 million for roads restoration, €830,000 for surface dressing and €180,000 discretionary allowance for additional works to roads. This funding is allocated for local and county roads in the Tuam Municipal District.
There is a substantial increase in funding for this year which is welcome. Our county and local roads have been neglected for the last ten years. This increase in funding is in recognition of the fact that the local and county roads need investment.
