I welcome the extension of the Warmer Home Scheme to include families in receipt of Domiciliary Care Allowance from January 1st 2018.
‘In addition a grant of €3,500 for heat pumps and a 33% grant for external wall insulation, there will also be a higher grant for heating controls. The heating control grant is to increase from €600 to €700. External wall insulation will be increased ranging from €2,750 to €6,000.
‘Communities will also benefit with €28 million in funding allocated for community energy projects. This fund will provide an incentive to community groups to transition away from fossil fuels.
‘The grant scheme announced by Denis Naughten TD, Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, will be operated by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.
‘The Warmer Home Scheme is open to people in receipt of the following: Fuel allowance; Jobseeker’s Allowance for more than six months; Family Income Supplement; One Parent Family Payment and Domiciliary Care Allowance.
Financial details of the energy efficiency grants are set out below:
• Heat pump (air to water, ground source, water source, exhaust air), effective from April 2018 €3,500.
