East Galway TD Seán Canney has criticised the way EIR is rolling out high speed broadband.
‘Eir are leaving huge gaps in the rollout. I have been contacted by many constituents who see the broadband connection coming up their road to their next door neighbour but they cannot be connected. This type of roll out is haphazard, unfair and totally illogical. When I contacted eir they say that they are unable to extend the rollout due to the distance from their exchange.
‘I am now calling on eir to cut out this nonsensical approach and invest in the required technology and deliver high speed broadband in a fair way. The technology is available so there should be no excuse to this totally fragmented approach which is causing huge anger within communities,’ concluded Deputy Canney.
