I have been informed that groups can now apply for Climate Actions grants which are being made available by The Community Foundation for Ireland in a match funding partnership with The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
“Grants are focussed on the local promotion of the Circular Economy, this can include up-cycling of goods, awareness of single use plastic and fair and equal use of drinking water. Last year there was over €100,000 provided in funding through 29-grants.
There are two strands of grants:
Strand 1: Building Awareness
Grants of up to €3,000 to support organisations to design and implement innovative online campaigns which aim to increase awareness of the concept of ‘circular economy’ and its impact on everyday life.
Strand 2: Sustaining Sustainability
Grants of up to €10,000 to support organisations working within the ‘circular economy/sustainability’ space to continue/adapt existing work, or develop new initiatives, ensuring that Ireland’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals continues despite challenges posed by Covid-19.
Match funding is a powerful way for philanthropy and public agencies and bodies to come together to deliver a better result for communities and Ireland.
