Several Independent members of Galway County Council have strongly endorsed Galway East Independent candidate and Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney for the General Election.
Cllr Tim Broderick Kilconnell, Cllr Geraldine Donohue Gort, Cllr Pat Hynes Loughrea, Cllr Gabe Cronnelly Athenry, Cllr James Charity Corrandulla and Cllr Jim Cuddy Claregalway are all backing Minister Canney, who is a sitting TD for Galway East.
Minister Canney said: “I am very proud to have the support of so many councillors in Galway East.
“I have worked closely with these councillors on many issues, both in Galway locally and nationally.
“I have also worked closely with Galway County Councillors from political parties to ensure maximum delivery for Galway East.”
