Two Galway East projects have received a total of more than €66,000 in LEADER funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development.
Ballinderreen GAA has been allocated €56,996 for its Disability Access Programme and Garrafrauns Community Centre, Tuam, has been allocated €13,024.12 for insulating interior walls.
I am delighted at these allocations from my Department.
The allocation to Ballinderreen will fund disability friendly parking spaces at key points of access to the club’s ground, disability friendly playground equipment to replace some of the club’s existing play facilities and a wheelchair toilet adjacent to the stand.
LEADER funding was set up specifically to support organisations in rural areas and provides vital funding for the maintenance and improvement of community facilities.
