I have received confirmation that Galway County Council is to carry out minor channel works to reduce the risk of flooding to homes at Cahermore, Kinvara.
After monitoring flood levels in the area, the council has decided to cut some overground channels to ease the flow of flood water.
This will help a number of homes at risk of flooding.
I have been in regular contact with Galway County Council about this issue and I very much welcome this decision.
I commend the council for its ongoing work to help people in the area.
