NATIONAL VOLUNTEER CONFERENCE
COPE Galway has been honoured with a prestigious award at a recent national conference on volunteering.
The charity, which deals with homelessness, domestic abuse and social isolation, received the award for Best Practice at the National Volunteer Management Conference at the Marino Institute of Education in Dublin.
Guest speaker at the event was Galway East TD and Minister for Community Development Seán Canney.
He said: “It is a great tribute to the valuable work of COPE Galway to receive this award. It provides a very important service to Galway city and county.”
Receiving the award on behalf of Cope were Lucia Canavan from Tuam and Mary T Biggins from Galway.
