I have received confirmation from the Department of Education that the Gaelscoil campus for Athenry has been devolved to Galway Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB)
“The next stage is for the GRETB to procure the Design Team for the project. The Design Team will design the buildings, obtain the necessary statutory planning permission and move the project on to tender and construction”.
“The Department could not give me a timeline on when construction will begin on site. It is anticipated that the design and planning process could take up to 2 years to complete”.
“I am anxious to see this project being completed in the shortest time possible. For too long Gaelscoil students in the Primary and Secondary schools have to ensure being educated in portacabins. This has gone on for too long. School management, staff, students and parents deserve better in terms off standards in their education facilities”.
