Great news today of two major funding awards towards the purchase of vehicles for health transport services in Galway.
Galway Hospice is to receive €50,000 in CLÁR funding from my department, the Department of Rural and Community Development, towards buying an accessible vehicle for its patients.
Meanwhile, the Irish Wheelchair Association in Tuam has been awarded €68,277 by the Department towards the cost of purchasing an accessible vehicle for people with disabilities.
Both grants fall within Measure 3B of CLÁR funding, which relates to special transport needs.
I am delighted the Department has been able to provide funding for these vital services.
I want to congratulate both organisations who provide sterling service to people in need within the constituency.
