The Office of Public Works has approved €20,000 in funding to construct a flood defence wall and associated works at Emmanuel House, Clonfert.
This funding from the OPW to Galway County Council under the Minor Works Scheme is very welcome news.
When I became Minister at the Office of Public Works three years ago, I modified the rules to make it easier for local authorities to access funding under the Minor Works scheme.
Since 2016 Galway County Council has received more than €2 million under the scheme.
I want to thank Galway County Council and the Office of Public Works for their continuing support for accessing and processing funding for these works.
