I am very pleased that emergency funding has been approved to provide additional special needs facilities at Ballinderreen Mixed National School.
Funding has been allocated by the Department of Education and Skills’ Building Unit.
The catchment area for the school has grown and it urgently requires special needs toilet facilities.
I am determined that we continue to provide top class educational provision in Galway East and I want to thank my colleague, the Minister for Education and Skills Joe McHugh, for authorising the allocation.
The amount of funding granted is not released by the Department so as not to prejudice the tendering process for works.
The school will be informed privately of the amount of funding in the coming days.
