I had the pleasure of being joined by the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment Richard Bruton for the launch of Inland Fisheries Ireland’s new electric vehicles.
It is great that Government and its statutory bodies like the IFI are leading the way on greener transport.
Fisheries comes under my ministry and if you look carefully you will see that we have an electric eel embossed on the side of the cars.
The four vehicles will be driven by Project Officers from IFI’s National Strategy for Angling Development’s Project Management Office which works with angling clubs and community groups around the country to support the development of fisheries.
Project officers travel to rural areas to work with local groups to support them in environmentally sustainable fisheries development work.
