Abbey Kylemore Group Water Scheme in Loughrea has been allocated €70,000 to replace a section of the scheme’s water mains.
Galway East TD and Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney said: “The Abbey Kylemore Group Water Scheme asked for my support in their application to the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Goverment via Galway County Council.
“The funding provided is for enhancement of the existing scheme, replacement of a section of the existing mains and for the design and tender of the works.
“I am delighted at the funding and I want to congratulate the scheme’s members on the allocation and acknowledge all the work they have done over the years on a voluntary basis to maintain their high standards.”
