“The communities to benefit from the funding are the Palace Grounds Tuam €108,500 for upgrade picnic and bench areas, upgrade bins, wheelchair accessible areas, repairs to paths and handrails, drainage works, park entrance signage.
Annaghdown Pier €30,000 to transform the public area at Annaghdown Pier into an outdoor recreational and picnicking area. Provide outdoor seating area and picnic tables, solar powered compacting bin, cycle stand and signage.
Lough Corrib Pier Headford €50,000 to upgrade public facilities, solar powered compacting bins, picnic tables, seating, benches, signage, cycle stands,
Public Park Portumna €25,000 for provision of bins, picnic tables, seating and benches.
Loughrea Park €45,000 for provision of bins, picnic tables, seating and benches.
Public Beach and Car Park Traught Beach €125,000 for provision of bins, picnic tables, seating, benches, and cycle parking.
Fairgreen Ballinasloe €45,000 for bins and picnic sets including wheelchair accessible picnic bench with concrete base.
Public Realm Improvements Leenane €15,000, Spiddal, €25,000, Clifden €12,500

“This is very welcome funding for the communities and will enhance their local amenities and I congratulate Galway County Council who made the application to the NTA. This funding is vital to improve our public parks, beaches and outdoor public realm for use by all including people with disabilities is in additional to the Active Travel funding already allocated to the County”.
