Deputy Seán Canney has welcomed the progress being made on the Dunkellin Drainage Scheme.
‘Work on the replacement bridge in Craughwell is progressing. The tender for the other bridges is complete and the preferred contractor is to be appointed shortly.
Major channel cleaning is also progressing. It is expected that the entire project is still on target for completion next year.
‘Galway County Council and the Office of Public Works are working to ensure that the works are completed as quickly as possible for the benefit of all the people who have been affected by flooding over many years,’ concluded Deputy Canney.
