I welcome the decision by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage to approve the appointment of the design team to deliver the new fire station for Loughrea.
“Galway County Council have been working on this project and this approval allows for the project to progress to Part 8 Planning, full design, procurement and construction.
“It is also important to note that the new fire station for Loughrea has been included on the National Capital Schedule for Fire Stations”.
Galway County Council have been active in upgrading the fire service infrastructure throughout the County.
“A new fire station has been completed in Tuam and Athenry has achieved planning and is progressing to full design and tender stage
“I want to commend Galway County Council and the Fire Service in their commitment to ensure that our fire service is well equipped and have modern facilities in place to support the service”.
