Department of Education confirm no funding available for a Sports Hall for Seamount College, Kinvara, Co. Galway.
I have received confirmation from the Minister for Education that there is no funding presently available to build a Sports Hall at Seamount College Kinvara.

“This is disappointing news for the school, students, parents and staff as every secondary school needs to have appropriate facilities to support PE provision.

The wellbeing of students and the Physical Education are part of the curriculum and it is baffling that funding is not in place to have the facilities available.

I have requested that the Minister meet with a delegation from the school, but this request has not been accepted yet.

Education is fundamental in the life of our youth; Physical Education is an integral part of the school and the appropriate facilities need to be supported by Government”.
