I have received confirmation from the HSE that general podiatry services will be available with a dedicated chiropodist / podiatrist in place from July this year.
“The dedicated post in the new Primary Care Centre will care for the needs of patients in the Tuam, Athenry and Loughrea Community Health Network”.
“It is important that this service is up and running without any further delay. It is important that chiropody and podiatry services are available in the local area”.
“It is very necessary for patients to be able to travel a short distance for treatment rather than having to travel to Galway city”.
“I will continue to liaise with the HSE to ensure that the Primary Care Centre setting is expanded to provide as many of the services possible in local areas”.
“Now more than ever we need to ensure that these services are available locally and we need to ensure that the Primary Care Centre in Tuam reaches is full potential in delivery of Health care services in Galway East”.
