I have written to Bus Eireann and the NTA seeking an explanation for their decision to cancel the existing Bus Route 50 and X50 serving Loughrea town.
This decision is a total contradiction of Government policy to provide public transport as a means of reducing the number of cars on our roads.
The Government has introduced a carbon tax on fuel despite the fact the public transport is not available in many parts of Ireland.
“This decision is a further insult to rural people and denies them access to public transport”
“We need answers and I have written to the NTA and Bus Eireann seeking an immediate reversal of the shocking decision”.
