Two Galway East groups are to receive funding for vital health support services from the Department of Rural and Community Development.
Galway East TD and Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney said: “I am delighted that these groups will be receiving funding from my Department under the 2019 CLÁR programme, which supports rural areas where populations have declined.
“Under Measure 3a of CLÁR, which is aimed at funding equipment and services for First Responder groups, Eyrecourt and District Cardiac First Responders Group will receive €2,411 and Killascobe Community Defibrillator Group will receive €5,202.
“These measures make a significant difference to people living in CLÁR areas. CLÁR forms an important part of the Government’s overall strategy for Rural Development as outlined in Project Ireland 2040.”
