Deputy Seán Canney has welcomed the fact that the tender valuation process is now complete for the new fire station in Tuam.
The tenders have been evaluated and the tender report has been sent to the Department for approval. The next stage is the appointment of the preferred contractor. The new fire station will be located on the Milltown Road on a site previously purchased by the County Council.
The project, which will cost approximately €1.5 million, will see the fire service located in a new state-of-the-art facility.
