Headford Music Works is to receive €4,692 from the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht towards the purchase of musical instruments.
The group is one of 34 not–for-profit and community music groups to receive national funding under the Music Capital Scheme 2019.
Galway East TD and Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney said: “I am delighted that local musicians will be benefiting from the scheme. The social and health benefits of learning to play an instrument are clearly established and it its important that we continue to fund the arts in this way.
“I want to congratulate Headford Music Works in achieving this award.”
