Galway East TD and Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney has welcomed €105,000 in funding for driver feedback signs at various locations, including Belclare, Lawrencetown, Ahascragh and Headford.
Minister Canney said: “These signs alert drivers to the speed they are travelling at and are most effective at controlling driver behaviour.
“I believe that these feedback signs help slow traffic down in built-up villages and towns and areas around schools.
“I welcome the inclusion of funding by the Department of Transport for this type of initiative to improve safety on our roads.”
