Canney welcomes funding for Cancer Care West bus

I welcome the provision of €100,000 in funding for the provision of a 25-seat passenger bus for Cancer Care West.
‘Cancer Care West was one of 27 applicants which will receive funding for mobility and cancer care transport under the Department of Rural and Community Development’s 2018 Clár Programme.
‘The funding will support Cancer Care West in transporting cancer patients to and from designated cancer treatment under the National Cancer Care Programme.
‘Transport to and from treatment is a significant problem for cancer patients and their families and the provision of funding to groups such as Cancer Care West for transport is a common sense provision which will hopefully result in less stressful treatment days for patients and their families and overall better outcomes.’
