The Office of Public Works have agreed funding for flood defence works at Caheroyn Drive, Athenry, Co. Galway.
“€36,000 has been allocated to Galway County Council to remove palisade fencing and existing stone wall, construct new low stone wall and flood defence wall, sump and associated works” stated Deputy Canney.
Funding has been allocated through the Minor Flood Mitigation Works.
“Galway County Council will carry out the works. When completed the works will provide protection against future flooding in the Caheroyn Drive in Athenry”. Concluded. Deputy Canney.
