East Galway TD Seán Canney has been informed that an Bόrd Pleanala have decided to uphold the planning permission for the refurbishment of the old Grove site.
‘The decision allows for the proposed Mental Day Hospital facility and the Disability facility to proceed.’
“I understand that the H.S.E. are now compiling the tender documents for the Mental Day Hospital facility and this project will proceed to tender immediately’.
‘This is a positive step forward in the quest to open up the old Grove site and bring it back into use as part of Tuam Health Campus’.
“I continue to promote Tuam and the development of Health facilities for Tuam & North Galway”.
‘This project follows on from the completion of the Tuam Ambulance Base which is now fully staffed. Also the new €10 million Primary Care Centre is reaching completion and will be opened later this year. Progress is also being made on the new Community Nursing Home and I expect that the design stage for this project will progress rapidly’.
“Tuam and North Galway will have a fantastic health campus when all the projects are completed after years of neglect” concluded Deputy Canney.
